Wood Farm Adventure
Wood Farm is a magical and huge place, with over 160 acres of woods and fields to roam in and access to some great walks around the area, with stunning views over the Staffordshire Moorland.
There are archaeological artefacts and areas dotted around the site (of which, if you ask nicely, the owner may give you a tour). There are goats and bulls on the site, plus many frequent winged visitors and great woods to explore. If that doesn’t take your fancy then on Saturday nights the barn is open as a communal area to meet and, if you fancy, a bit of karaoke!
Situated on the edge of the village of Alton, near to Alton Towers (if you fancy a thrill ride), the site is easy to get to, just a 10 minute drive from the A50 at Uttoxeter.
The rates for camping are £6.50 per adult per night, £5.00 per child per night (over 2).
If you want EHU then it is an extra £5.00 per night (please note we do not supply EHU cables)
The site is fantastic and we certainly recommend a visit. This site is great for families and large groups, as well as small groups and couples!
Please note we do not allow dogs.
Upper Hurst Farm
Upper Hurst Farm is a family-run site in a stunning setting and close to the picturesque village of Hartington. A perfect, tranquil setting for Glamping and exploration. The pitches enjoy almost 360-degree panoramic views over the beautiful Peak District National Park. There is a family and dog-friendly pub within walking distance (Manifold Inn, 0.7 miles).
The toilet and shower block is superb, with underfloor heating and showers that offer unlimited hot water. There is a large wet room, which is suitable for people with access needs and is also available to families with small children and babies. There is a kitchen area for washing up and a washing machine, dryer and small freezer for ice packs.
They are an eco-conscious site, with the majority of their energy provided from sustainable sources or directly from the sun from solar panels. There are some added animal attractions with a pair of alpacas, a resident (free range) peacock and peahen, four characterful and friendly mini Shetland ponies and free range chickens (eggs available). Plus they have resident little owls (which are not at all common) as well as other indigenous owls and buzzards, and peregrine falcons are even a common sight.
The site is well worth a visit and we highly recommend staying. All in all a fantastic site 🙂
The rates for camping are £27 per pitch and that is per night for two people with a car. It is £6 extra per additional adult per night, £3 extra for children (aged 5-17). There are also extra charges for additional cars, £3 per night.
This site is perfect for families and couples but they do not take group bookings.
Please note we do not allow dogs.
